Gifts in the Ruins;Rediscovering What Matters Most
by Rosemary Luling Haughton
With Illustrations by the author Foreword by Joan Chittister

20 Original Line Drawings. A book of hope for people of faith who question, doubt or look elsewhere. Maybe something is shining in the ruins. Rosemary Luling Haughton first gained international recognition as a writer on theology in the 1960s,and children's books too. Later, her own children grown, Rosemary founded Wellspring House, a community committed to social justice through hospitality. Over the years, like everyone, Rosemary learned and lost, held onto and let go, many religious beliefs. Here, in word and art, she rediscovers values and images "old, new, familiar, strange" that she holds onto and that have the power to heal and strengthen our own hearts. Rosemary Luling Haughton has authored many books, including The Transformation of Man, The Recreation of Eve, The Catholic Thing, The Passionate God, and The Tower That Fell. Her work at Wellspring House in Gloucester, Massachusetts reaches marginalized people, especially women, through programs of education, housing, and public policy.
