The story of Saint Faustina of Kowalska, who was called by Jesus to share His message of Divine Mercy and that he wanted people to celebrate His love and mercy on a special day. After Pope Saint John Paul II canonized Faustina in 2000, he declared the first Sunday after Easter as Divine Mercy Sunday.

Saints are real-life heroes and heroines of faith who inspire us with their virtues to become more like Christ. In this series of beautifully illustrated early reader books, these real stories come to life and connect with today’s children, ages 4 to 9.

Barbara Yoffie has been in Catholic education for 35 years as both a primary grades classroom teacher and religion education coordinator. Currently, she is the coordinator of religious education at St. Clement of Rome Elementary School, St. Louis, MO. She is a well-known presenter on a variety of topics, including seasons of the Church year, saints, creative activities, and praying with children. Yoffie has a master's degree in religious education administration from Loyola University, New Orleans, a bachelor's degree in art education, and a certificate of religious studies, from Paul VI Institute, St. Louis. She is the author of the Saints and Me! series, as well as several pamphlets and booklets on saints.

Award-winning artist Chris Sharp has been writing and illustrating children's books and related materials in both the trade and liturgical markets for over 20 years. He lives in Saint Charles, Missouri.
